September Release Notes: What we shipped this offseason

Like many players, we spent the basketball offseason getting faster and bulking up.

SportsVisio has always been an app first. That is still where you record, claim a profile and get your clips. But leagues kept asking for the thing an app is bad at: a wide screen, a full table, a page you can send someone. So we built it. stats.sportsvisio.com is live, and the old admin web manager is gone.

Ten things are new:

We're faster

Turnaround got about 300% faster. What used to take a day or two now lands the morning after we get your film.

Very few ask us about turnaround in a demo. Everybody notices it in week two, when the Saturday game is already stats by Sunday breakfast instead of Monday night. It came out of a run of computer-vision breakthroughs over the summer, and it is the change that alters how the product actually gets used.

A homepage that gives you something new

Your team, your upcoming games, your league leaders, on one screen. Dark mode is the default because that is what people asked for; light mode is one click away. Expect this page to keep changing through the season.

NBA-style metrics for your league

Rankings, team pages and player pages now carry the metrics people actually argue about. Adjusted tempo, so you can see which team plays fastest. Assist-to-turnover ratio, so the guy who insists he is the best passer in the league can be checked.

A player page that does a job

Every player gets a page: season numbers, game log, shot chart, and shooting splits by zone. Players claim their own profile in the app, and once they do, that page becomes their hoops LinkedIn profile.

Your games, with everything attached

Every game now carries the full play-by-play alongside the full film. Same page, same screen. Filter by player, relive those moments, or create a custom reel.

The Film Room is open to everyone

We launched the Film Room for coaches last season. It is open to players now. Only you can see the reels you build, and you are free to share them. Telestration is coming soon, so you will be able to draw on those reels and talk over them.

Scout your next opponent in thirty seconds

Compare any two players or any two teams. Who hits the glass, who runs, who gets to the line. Useful before a game, uncomfortable after one.

Playoffs, properly

Brackets are seeded. Winners get the new Champion Trophy badge on their profile. It is a small thing and people care about it more than any number on the page.

Coach Mode closed the loop

The AI assistant coach got bulked up too. It builds the scout, shares it, tracks which players have actually reviewed it, and then brings back results measured against the focus areas you identified.

The tracking is what coaches asked for. A scouting report nobody reads is not a scouting report.

Admins can run a season themselves

Season setup is self-serve. Create teams, divisions, schedules and rosters, and invite players, without emailing anyone here. We used to do all of that by hand for every league. Doing it manually for long enough turned out to be the spec.

The best part... we are not done

More data, more video. We push improvements most days now, so the gap between someone asking for something and it being in there keeps getting shorter.
